2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show Part 1

PRESSED PLANT MATERIALS CLASSES REMINDERS
• Read all the rules and guidelines in the Exhibitor’s Guide.
• Be sure that the theme of each class you enter is represented in your art. • Place your name and class number on the back of your work.
• Take care not to have any pencil lines or glue showing, as these will detract from your art.
• Please use wire for hanging all frames. Sawtooth hooks, ribbon, and cords do not hold.
• All exhibitors will receive judges’ comment forms in the mail after the
conclusion of the Show.

PRESSED PLANT CLASSES SCALE OF POINTS
ORIGINALITY
• Imaginative interpretation of class title 10
• Originality of depiction 10
DESIGN
• Creativity and scale of piece 10
• Unity and rhythm 10
CONDITION AND CHOICE OF MATERIAL
• Difficulty of pressed plant material 10
• Imaginative choice and quality of pressed plants (no tears, wrinkles, enhancements) 10
COLOR
• Harmony of color to enhance design 10
• Balance in texture and shape of material 10
CRAFTSMANSHIP
• Mechanics 10
• No mechanical faults (glue, pencil lines, etc.) 10
TOTAL 100

Create a scene containing a vase filled with flowers. A minimum of five different types of flowers must be incorporated into the art. Open only to exhibitors who have not won a blue ribbon in the Pressed Plant Classes of the Philadelphia International Flower Show prior to 2011.
